India Aluminium Import Tariff Increases From 2.5 To 10 Percent

India's aluminium industry has asked for an increase in the import tariff from 2.5 to 10 percent. The aluminium association of India has applied for an increase in the import duty on waste aluminium from 2.5 percent to 10 percent. It also applied to raise the import tariff on raw aluminum from 7.5% to 10%. Before the budget for 2017, the import tariff on aluminium is 2.5 percent and the original aluminium import tariff is 5 percent. In the last budget, the government raised the import tariffs on aluminium to 7.5%. As a result, the tariff gap between aluminium and waste has widened from 2.5% to 5%.
