- Jan 19, 2018 -

UC RUSAL announced today that it has reached a five-year agreement with the ENERGOPROM group (EPM) to supply 21,500 tonnes of cathode blocks per year. Cathode block is the key material for producing raw aluminum.

From 2018 to 2022, the ENERGOPROM group will supply 70 percent of the total demand of graphite materials for Rusal aluminum plants. The company will be supplied from the electrode factory in Novosibirsk, Russia.

Chief executive of RUSAL,  Vladislav Soloviev commented: "to guarantee raw material supply is one of the priorities we consider for a long time, which ensures the stable operation of our equipment. Fixed price is one of the conditions of the contract for five years, this will help to reduce the risks associated with imports, because before signing the contract, the vast majority of carbon graphite products are from foreign suppliers.

ENERGOPROM group is a manufacturer of graphite and carbon products in Russia. The company's core business is to supply graphite electrodes, cathodes and other carbon and graphite products for steel, aluminum, ferroalloys, silicon, chemical and machinery manufacturing industries.
